Interests: God Loves Us! So why do we ignore Him and hurt His feelings? Why do we do things that He does not like? How can we show respect for God and please Him? Expertise: 35 And one of them, versed in the Law, asked, testing him: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

| IS THE DOOR STILL OPEN? What door? Is The Door To Jehovah God's Compassion Still Open? Why does it matter? Remember Noah’s Ark? While Noah built the ark according to Jehovah God's specifications, doubtless - the people of the world of his time laughed at him and ridiculed his work and his preaching. When the Ark was finished, the door of the Ark still stood open. The people got used to seeing it stand open. It had stood open for so long while the ark was being built that it seemed like a permanent open invitation. While the door stood open Noah delivered his final warning message as the animals went aboard. He warned people of a coming world destruction because of world-wide wickedness. Man had filled the earth with violence. Yes, man's wickedness was great: 11 Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. (Genesis 6:11) (NIV) While Noah preached - the door of the Ark stood open. Doubtless some thought that if it did rain the ark would be a nice place to be in -- but of course they thought it would never rain because it had never rained before. "...for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth... but there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground." (Genesis 2:5,6) (American Standard Version) The sun shone and the sky was blue. Absolutely nobody outside of Noah's family believed his message. All the while - the door to the Ark was open. It is just like that today! The “door” was open to serve Jehovah for a long time, yet the world of mankind thinks that there is still plenty of time left before the "Great Day of Jehovah" will arrive. Many people do not believe that the day will ever come. But what do the Bible’s prophets say?
"And all the kings... near and far, one after the other - all the kingdoms on the face of the earth... You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword upon all who live on the earth, declares Jehovah God Almighty.' Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them: 'The LORD JEHOVAH will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against the earth. He will shout... against all who live on the earth. The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for Jehovah will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword,' This is what Jehovah Almighty says: "Look! Disaster is spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth." At that time those slain by JEHOVAH will be everywhere - from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered up or buried, but will be like refuse lying on the ground." (Jeremiah 25:26, 29-33) (ASV) "This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified." (2Thessalonians 1:7-10) (New International Version) The world's scene is changing quickly - just as Christ foretold it would. He described clearly what life on the earth would be like when he was to return in Matthew chapter 24 and we are seeing it happen - now - right before our very eyes!
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" 4 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. (Matthew 24:3-6) (NIV) But Is The Door Still Open? 1 The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made." (Genesis 7:1,4) (NIV) Noah did not close the door to the ark. Jehovah closed it.
Why? Jehovah knew that once the rain began to pour down - suddenly - everyone would believe, and there would be a mad dash to join Noah on his ark. Jehovah also knew that if Noah were able to open the ark's great door, he would do so, in pity for the drowning people. "And they went... into the ark... as God commanded him: and Jehovah shut him in." (Genesis 7:15,16) (ASV) So too - today - The Door to Jehovah's compassion closed - just as it did in Noah's day. And once it closed - IT IS CLOSED! And it will remain closed until God's executioner - His Son - is done cleansing the earth of all of the evil in it. Predictably, when Armageddon starts - suddenly - everyone will believe; not because they love Jehovah and his Son but because they will see the signs that Armageddon is beginning with their own eyes: 12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, (Revelation 6:12) (NIV) 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. (Revelation 19:11) (NIV) The "Door" Is Shut. It Is Too Late Now. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.' "But he will answer, "I don't know you or where you come from." (Luke 13:25) (NIV) "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come." (Mark 13:32,33) (NIV) A holy God has the right to judge evil people. Society on Earth before The Flood was clearly getting unbearably murderous. Again - life here today is also out of control. Jehovah God is today our Ark of Safety. Jehovah's people are sheltered from Divine Judgment. "Seek ye Jehovah, all ye meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye will be hid in the day of Jehovah's anger." (Zephaniah 2:3) (ASV) "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered..." (Joel 2:32) (ASV) "As the Scripture says... 'Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.' " (Romans 10:11,13) (NIV) 13 "but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:23) (NIV) For the rest of the world - Time has run out...
| The Lord’s Prayer The Bible has many prayers in it. The Lord’s Prayer is an example that our Saviour gave us. Most people have a vague idea of what the words mean, but often people memorize it and repeat it in prayer mechanically. Is this the best or only way to pray to our Heavenly Father? Christendom, especially Catholicism, promotes the idea that mindless repetition of the Lord’s Prayer is the accepted way to pray to their nameless lord. And that is exactly what they do. This is not really what Jehovah wants from us. We need to pray to our Heavenly Father, but not repetitiously. After all, how would we like it if people came up to us and muttered the same phrases to us over and over? People would not conceive of talking to other people like a "broken record", so why do people treat The God who created the universe as if He would like to hear monotonous repetition? Christ never taught that. As much as people love to pray monotonously, it is not a requirement for Christians. “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” (Matthew 6:7) (King James Version) People around the world love to pray repetitiously to their false gods, so we should want to avoid being like them. When Christ gave us the “Lord’s prayer”, he made it plain that it was a guide to go by: “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” (Matthew 6:8) (King James Version) But what does this prayer mean? What are we actually praying for? “Our Father, who art (who is) in Heaven” is Jehovah, not a “nameless LORD”. It would be wise to call upon Him with His name so that there is no question about whom we are praying to. As the Apostle Paul once said: “5 According to some people, there are many so-called gods and many lords, both in heaven and on earth. 6 But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we exist for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.” (1 Corinthians 8:5-6) (New Living Translation) “Hallowed be thy name” means, “your name is sacred.” “Your kingdom come” means, “may your kingdom come”.
What kingdom?
The end of this “system” is almost here and we will be ruled by Jehovah’s kingdom after all of the earthly governments are crushed. We pray for His kingdom to come for our deliverance from injustice and oppression by our current earthly governments. “Thy will be done” means “may your will be done “on earth as it is in Heaven”. Jehovah’s will is not being done by everyone here on the earth now. That will change soon! “Give us this day our daily bread” is a prayer that most of the world prays daily, even by non-Christians due to widespread famine and food shortages. Only Jehovah promises to answer our prayer for our daily bread: 25 "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life--whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life consist of more than food and clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.” (Matthew 6:25-26) (New Living Translation) “And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors” is a prayer for forgiveness of sins. “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” is a prayer to help us stay on the narrow path to everlasting life. “For thine (yours) is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever.” For the time being, earthly rulers seek some kind of kingdom, power and glory for themselves. This too will change soon. Amen According to the online Encyclopedia Wikipedia: Amun (also spelled Amon, Amoun, Amen, and rarely Imen, Greek Ἄμμων Ammon, and Ἅμμων Hammon, reconstructed Egyptian Yamānu) was the name of a deity, in Egyptian mythology, who gradually rose to become one of the most important deities in Ancient Egypt, before fading into obscurity. From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amun (Matthew 6:9-13) (King James Version) Since this is a guide to go by, it is not proper to memorize this prayer and pray it daily. Instead, it is much better to pray daily to Jehovah as if He were a person, like we are, because He is! Tell Him your desires, thoughts and be sure to thank Him for the blessings He bestows upon us. Always pray to Jehovah in Christ’s name because he said:
”If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:14) (New Living Translation) Christ never told his followers to pray to him, but people tend to do that. Remember the first commandment and pray to Jehovah through his son and we will be worshiping Jehovah in the manner that He prefers. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3) (KJV) What else does Jehovah require of us? Stop ending prayers with the name of an Egyptian god. It is just another ploy by the Catholic church to insert pagan gods and other pagan practices into Christianity.
| They Don't Want to Hear it! The Bible has an enormous amount of valuable information in it. Some of the information is historical, some is anecdotal but there is a large amount of prophecy and wisdom that is so important, we would be foolish to ignore it. But many people do!
How can people ignore the wisdom of the Bible? Many people consider the Bible to be a book of dead history. First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised?" By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. (2Peter 3:3,4,7) (New International Version) On the other hand, there are people who love and cherish SOME of the Bible's wisdom. They pick and choose what they want from the Bible. If they see or hear something that is unpleasant or disagreeable, they ignore it as if it wasn't even written there. "But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not..." (Ezekiel 2:7) (New American Standard Bible) The words written in the Bible came from God. Not just any God, but Jehovah God. Jehovah had His many prophets write the words in the Bible for a purpose. That is because every word that Jehovah utters has a purpose. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:10-11) (NIV) "...I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please." (Isaiah 46:9,10) (NIV) The Bible, indeed, has many words of encouragement and comfort but it also has numerous warnings for us to heed. "...the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying... give them warning from me. " (Ezekiel 3:16,17) (American Standard Version)
Picking and Choosing Many members of Christendom only want to hear scriptures that please them. They do not want to hear "ALL" that God or His Son said. Many pick and choose the scriptures to soothe them and make them feel comfortable and complacent. When other scriptures are presented to them, ones that require action on their part or suggest that a change is needed - they often get angry and quickly reject both the scripture and the source. But, Who Are They Hurting? Only Themselves! Why? The answer is simple - by refusing to listen to scriptures where Christ or his Father gives a warning, the reader has instantly rejected not only Christ's message but also the originator of that message - our Heavenly Father, Jehovah God. Jesus Said - "...anyone who says 'No' to me is really saying 'No' - to the one who sent me." (Luke 10:16) (Contemporary English Version) "...if you don't accept the trustworthiness of the One who commanded my words and acts, none of it matters. That is who you are questioning -not me but the One who sent me." (John 8:28) (Message Bible) Jesus said - "There is a lot more I could say to condemn you. But the one who sent me is truthful, and I tell the people of this world only what I have heard from him." (John 8:26) (CEV)
Rejecting the warning scriptures and only clinging to pleasanter ones will not stop the inevitable from happening. Yes, whether they like it or not, a world-wide warning has been given and the outcome, as given, will truly happen, whether they listen or not. What Warning Scriptures? "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead." (Acts 17:30,31) (NIV) Many people say, "Judge the world? But my minister says God loves us just as we are!" Is that really so? 9Don't you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, 10thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers--none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God. (1Corinthians 6:9-10) (NIV) "...he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;" (2Peter 2:6) (NIV) Our Messiah issued some serious Warnings. "As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age." (Matthew 13:40) (NIV) "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!" (Luke 12:49) (NIV) "But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed." (Luke 17:29-30) (NIV) "I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you." (Matthew 11:24) (NIV) But The Messiah was not the only one... "Just a little while longer, and the wicked ones will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the earth and enjoy great peace." (Psalm 37: 10,11) (NIV) "For the upright shall dwell in the earth, and the righteous shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be rooted out of it." (Proverbs 2:21,22) (NIV) 17 You make God tired with all your talk. "How do we tire him out?" you ask. By saying, "God loves sinners and sin alike. God loves all." And also by saying, "Judgment? God's too nice to judge." (Malachi 2:17) (Message Bible) "...This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with ever- lasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified." (2Thessalonians 1:7-10) (NIV) "...And you will destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth." (Revelation 11:18) (New Livinig Translation) This is fair warning for those who blithely believe that "God and Jesus loves all of us just as we are!" How bad will it be? “And those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in that day from one end of the earth clear to the other end of the earth. They will not be bewailed, neither will they be gathered up or be buried. As manure on the surface of the ground they will become.” (Jeremiah 25:33) (Young's Literal Translation) Along with the warnings come blessings for the righteous. "Happy are the meek and mild for they will inherit the earth." (Matthew 5:5) (Amplified Bible) "We are looking for what God has promised, which are new heavens and a new earth. Only what is right and good will be there." (2Peter 3:13) (New Life Version)
| Many Gods and Many Lords The pious people of Christendom are generally satisfied that they are serving the God of the Bible. They flock to churches plastered with crosses, celebrate Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s day and pray to their trinity god, Jesus. What they don’t realize is that they are actually serving a multitude of gods who oppose the God of the Bible. 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. (1Corinthians 8:5-6) (NIV) And who is the True God? 8 I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images. (Isaiah 42:8) (American Standard Version) Who is the trinity god? Is Jehovah a trinity God? 9 And Jehovah shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall Jehovah be one, and his name one. (Zecariah 14:9) (ASV) The Bible says, No - He is NOT! The word, "trinity" cannot be found in any version of the Bible. There are many reputable sources that, instead, report that the "Christian" Trinity god is merely a made-up commodity. "The Church of Rome borrowed her doctrine of the Divinity of Christ from the pagans and the way they worshipped their pagan gods, as half human and half god. Their adoration of Jesus as a man-god was almost identical to their devotions to the ancient pagan gods." -Pagan Origin of Partialist Doctrines By John Claudius Pitrat Published 1871 "The cult that arose in Babylon and spread its cult tentacles throughout the world was trinitarian (Two Babylons, by Alexander Hislop). At first, this doctrine was merely humanism, man making himself god. The first humanism trinity of record to be setup and worshiped as gods, was that of Nimrod, Simeramus, and Tammuz. These are in the Old Testament in the Canaanite language identified as Baal, Ashtoreth, and Tammuz. At the dispersion of the people at the Tower of Babel, this trinity doctrine of humanism was spread all over the world. Each religion of all the pagan religions held two common traits: 1.) A trinity of gods and; 2.) These were in a form of human gods." -Jesus Messieh Fellowship The Trinity Doctrine Is Pagan By Cohen G. Reckart, Pastor Why did pagan beliefs become incorporated into the beliefs God’s son brought us? 1 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. 2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. (1Timothy 4:1-2) (New Living Translation) Who is Jesus? This seems like a silly question since most people, even non-Christians will identify "Jesus" as the son of God. Oddly enough, that is not the name of God’s son! It is fairly common knowledge that Christ's name in the Hebrew texts of the Bible is "Yeshua". Whenever the name "Yeshua" is enountered it is supposed to be translated to "Joshua". This is as it should be. "Jesus - In Hebrew it is the same as Joshua. In two places [Acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8] in the New Testament it is used where is means Joshua, the leader of the Jews into Canaan, and in our translation the name Joshua should have been retained." -Albert Barnes' - Notes on the New Testament Notes on Matthew 1:21 "Joshua" or "Jehoshua" translates as "The Salvation of Jehovah". "(Joshua) Yahshua/Yahushua/Yahoshua, is the correct Name for the Savior. In all spellings and pronunciation, the Name is rendered to mean "salvation of YAH" or "YAH'S salvation/ (His) Savior." The Name (Joshua) in its fullest translation means, "He (YAH) shall save His people. (Yah or Jah - is an abbreviation for Jehovah) (Just as Yeshua (Joshua) is an abbreviation for Yehoshuah or Jehoshuah) - (meaning - The Salvation of Jehovah - or Jehovah's Savior)." -COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE, by C. J. Koster "The name "Jehoshua" means the same as Joshua." -Hitchcocks’s Dictionary of Bible Names Since "Yehoshua" or "Jehoshua" literally means "the Salvation of Jehovah" - we can see why people said that he came in his Father's Name. 9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. (Matthew 21:9) (NIV) We can also see why Jehovah chose this name for his son - because "Jehoshua" is to be the means by which Jehovah would provide Salvation to Mankind. This is in total agreement with the prophet Joel, who said that only those calling upon the name of "Jehovah" would be saved. "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered..." (Joel 2:32) (ASV) So, how did Jehoshua Christ become known as "Jesus"?
"It is known that the Greek name endings with sus, seus, and sous were attached by the Greeks to names and geographical areas as means to give honour to their supreme deity, Zeus." -Dictionary of Christian Lore and Legend Professor J. C. J. Metford So, what does the name, "Jesus" Mean, in Greek? "Some authorities, who have spent their entire lives studying the origins of names believe that "Jesus" actually means - "Hail Zeus!" For Iesous in Greek IS "Hail Zeus." "Ie" translates as "Hail" and "sous" or "sus" translates as Zeus. The English name "Jesus", therefore, stems etymologically from "Jupiter-Zeus" the chief god of the ancient Greek Olympus." -"Yeshua" or "Jesus" -- Which? Biblical Research Institute; 1996 by Les Aron Gosling How Insulting! Of all the insulting and barabaric beliefs incorporated into modern Christianity, it is difficult to find a more egregious and slanderous defamation. How can it get worse? Who does the cross really belong to? "It was not until Christianity began to be PAGANIZED that the cross came to be thought of as a Christian symbol." - Babylon Mystery Religion; Ralph Woodrow (pg 50) 'That which is now called the Christian cross was originally no Christian emblem at all, but was the mystic Tau of the Chaldeans (Babylonians) and the Egyptians." - Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylons, 2nd American edition. (Neptune, New Jersey, U.S.A: Loizeaux Brothers, 1959; (originally written in 1862), pp. 197-205. 'There is hardly a Pagan tribe where the cross has not been found. The cross was worshipped by the Pagan Celts long before the incarnation and death of Christ.'(10) - 10. Ibid. p. 199. 'Crabb's Mythology, p. 163.' "Various objects, dating from periods long anterior to the Christian era, have been found, marked with crosses of different designs, in almost every part of the old world. India, Syria, Persia and Egypt have all yielded numberless examples... The use of the cross as a religious symbol in pre-Christian times and among non-Christian peoples may probably be regarded as almost universal, and in very many cases it was connected with some form of nature worship." —Encyclopædia Britannica (1946), Vol. 6, p. 753. "Cross" Christians know this commandment: 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. (Exodus 20:4) (ASV) But they obviously ignore it! They also know this commandment: 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3) (ASV) But most nominal Christians eagerly serve many false gods on their sacred days willingly. What gods do nominal Christians worship? Most people are at least vaguely aware that God's son, our Messiah was not born on December 25th. Who was born on that day? "December 25th - not only was Mithra, the sun-god of Mithraism, said to be born at this time of the year, but Osiris, Horus, Hercules, Bacchus, Adonis, Jupiter, Tammuz, and other sun-gods were also supposedly born at what is today called the "Christmas" season, the winter solstice!" - Doane, p.474; - "The Two Babylons; Alexander Hislop, p.93. "The winter solstice (December) was the time at which all the sun-gods from Osiris to Jupiter and Mithra had celebrated their (birthdays) - the celebration being adorned with the pine tree of Adonis, the holly of Saturn, and the mistletoe (of the pagan Druids)... tapers(candles) represented the kindling of the newborn sun-god's fire..." -Man and His Gods, p. 201. And more gods... "Easter is a heathen term, derived from the Saxon goddess Eastre, the same as Astarte, the Syrian Venus, called Ashtoreth in the Old Testament." - The Companion Bible, King James Version (Grand Rapids, Michigan: Kregel Publications, 1990), p.1607.) The history of Valentine's Day is obscure, and further clouded by various fanciful legends. The holiday's roots are in the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, a fertility celebration commemorated annually on February 15. Pope Gelasius I recast this pagan festival as a Christian feast day circa 496, declaring February 14 to be St. Valentine's Day. From: http://www.infoplease.com/spot/valentinesdayhistory.html How do Christians end their prayers to their God? Amen According to the online Encyclopedia Wikipedia: Amun (also spelled Amon, Amoun, Amen, and rarely Imen, Greek Ἄμμων Ammon, and Ἅμμων Hammon, reconstructed Egyptian Yamānu) was the name of a deity, in Egyptian mythology, who gradually rose to become one of the most important deities in Ancient Egypt, before fading into obscurity. From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amun What do the multi-god worshiping nominal Christians look forward to? "On that day of judgment," says the LORD, "I will punish the leaders... and all those following pagan customs." (Zephaniah 1:8) (New Living Translation) 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 "It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. (Luke 17:29-30) (NIV) What day? 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:37-39) (NIV) What is a much better idea? This is what Jehovah's people, would suggest: "Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Jehovah come upon you, before the day of Jehovah's anger come upon you. Seek ye Jehovah, all ye meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye will be hid in the day of Jehovah's anger." (Zephaniah 2:2,3) (ASV) 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. (Romans 12:9) (NIV)
| Become Like Little Children... Being intelligent can be quite a blessing. High intelligence can help people learn a wide variety of subjects and make informed decisions about many important matters. For example, some people are expert scientists... According to Wikipedia, Stephen Hawking is a British theoretical physicist and cosmologist, whose scientific books and public appearances have made him an academic celebrity. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts,[2] a lifetime member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences,[3] and in 2009 was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.[4] Most people familiar with Doctor Hawking agree that he is, obviously, highly intellegent and quite a scientist. What are his religious views? In his early work, Hawking spoke of God in a metaphorical sense, such as in A Brief History of Time: "If we discover a complete theory, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason – for then we should know the mind of God."[66] In the same book he suggested the existence of God was unnecessary to explain the origin of the universe.[67] His 2010 book The Grand Design and interviews with the Telegraph and the Channel 4 documentary Genius of Britain, clarify that he does "not believe in a personal God".[68] Hawking writes, "The question is: is the way the universe began chosen by God for reasons we can't understand, or was it determined by a law of science? I believe the second." He adds, "Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing."[69][70] His ex-wife, Jane, said during their divorce proceedings that he was an atheist.[71][72] Hawking has stated that he is "not religious in the normal sense" and he believes that "the universe is governed by the laws of science. The laws may have been decreed by God, but God does not intervene to break the laws."[73] In an interview published in The Guardian newspaper, Hawking regarded the concept of Heaven as a myth, stating that there is "no heaven or afterlife" and that such a notion was a "fairy story for people afraid of the dark."[66][74] Hawking contrasted religion and science in 2010, saying: "There is a fundamental difference between religion, which is based on authority, [and] science, which is based on observation and reason. Science will win because it works."[75] From: Wikipedia.com - "Stepehn Hawking" and http://abcnews.go.com/WN/stephen-hawking-god-create-universe-question-day/story?id=11542128 Scientist Stephen Hawking Says There Is No God Stephen Hawking, a brilliant physicist at Cambridge University, tells Guardian writer Ian Sample in an interview published yesterday, that there is not God as we imagine it and there is no life after the death of the body. From: http://www.newsinabox.net/1428/scientist-stephen-hawking-says-there-is-no-god.html Dr. Hawking demonstrates for us that intelligence and an aptitude for science does not lead to a belief in God or religion. Being smart should help foster and strengthen religious beliefs but it does not always happen. No, mental brilliance does not always lead to correct beliefs or brilliant decisions. People of lesser intelligence, even children can sometimes make better choices and decisions. At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do." (Luke 10:21) (New International Version) Does God exist? 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good. (Psalms 53:1) (NIV) 6 Thus saith Jehovah, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God. (Isaiah 44:6) (American Standard Version) 5 I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me; 6 that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me: I am Jehovah, and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:5,6) (ASV) What can we learn about Jehovah God? "Come, YOU sons, listen to me; The fear of Jehovah is what I shall teach YOU." (Psalm 34:11) (New World Tranlation) www.WatchTower.org Should we fear God? The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth for ever. (Psalms 111:10 (ASV) "I opened my arms to my own people all day long, but they have rebelled. They follow their own evil paths and thoughts." (Isaiah 65:2) (NIV) For it is a rebellious people, untruthful sons, sons who have been unwilling to hear the law of Jehovah; (Isaiah 30:9) (NWT) It is a fact that most people do not believe in Jehovah. What will be their fate? "And the word of Jehovah continued to occur to me, saying... ‘An end, the end, has come upon the four extremities of the land. Now the end is upon you, and I must send my anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways and bring upon you all your detestable things. And my eye will not feel sorry for you, neither will I feel compassion, for upon you I shall bring your own ways, and in the midst of you your own detestable things will come to be; and YOU people will have to know that I am Jehovah.’ " (Ezekiel 7:1-4) (NWT) “Look! The day of Jehovah itself is coming, cruel both with fury and with burning anger, in order to make the land an object of astonishment, and that it may annihilate [the land’s] sinners out of it." (Isaiah 13:9) (NWT) "And the crowd of those strange to you must become just like fine powder, and the crowd of the tyrants just like the chaff that is passing away. And it must occur in an instant, suddenly. From Jehovah of armies you will have attention with thunder and with quaking and with a great sound, storm wind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.” (Isaiah 29:5-6) (NWT) 12 "I will 'destine' you to the sword. All of you will bow before the executioner, for when I called, you did not answer. When I spoke, you did not listen. You deliberately sinned--before my very eyes --and chose to do what you know I despise." (Isaiah 65:12) (New Living Translation) Who is NOT afraid of Jehovah? “Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways." (Proverbs 8:32) (NIV) Who are Jehovah's "children"? Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matt 19:14) (NIV) Children are highly desirable to Jehovah - and so are adults who are willing to become His children. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matt 18:3) (NIV) He said, “Surely they are my people, children who will be true to me”; and so he became their Savior. (Isaiah 63:8) (NIV) I myself said, “‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘Father’ and not turn away from following me." (Jeremiah 3:19) (NIV) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. (Matt 5:9) (NIV) 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (Matt 5:44-45) (NIV) The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!" (Mark 10:24) (NIV) Jehovah wants everyone to be His children but the vast majority of people in this world reject Him. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. (Matt 23:37) (NIV) But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. (Luke 6:35) (NIV) Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— (John 1:12) (NIV) For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (Romans 8:14) (NIV) ...and, “In the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’” (Romans 9:26) (NIV) I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children. (1corinthians 4:14) (NIV) As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also. (2corinthians 6:13) (NIV) So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, (Galatians 3:26) (NIV) So that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky. (Phillipians 2:15) ( NIV) See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1John 3:1) (NIV) We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 1John 5:19) (NIV) Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. (Revelation 21:7) (NIV) What advice is appropriate for those who want to be God's children in these last days? Do not become wise in your own eyes. Fear Jehovah and turn away from bad.
